"Angel Wings"

This is another small piece I carved with the charity art show in mind. It's pink alabaster posted on a green marble base. This was a complete departure from my other work in stone and it came out exactly as I envisioned it, so I was quite pleased. 6"x4"x3" $285 SOLD

I painted this and a portrait of their late bunny, Max to hang on their wall and invite commissions for pet portraits. "Barn Owl"

I haven't done much representational work in stone but wanted to do this rather abstract owl in honor of Laurel Averill, owner of Vida Verde, the store where I am featured artist this month. She loves owls and so do I. $225, available at Vida Verde all of October, except for the 25th and 26th, when it will be at the Alternative Art Market at The Majestical Roof in Pasadena.

Adolfo Cambiaso Handpainted Polo Shirt

I painted this polo shirt with the image of Adolfo Cambiaso, probably the best polo player in the world. He's a 10 goal. When you consider that to be a pro, a player has to be rated at least a 1, then you realize how good this guy is!

"Serpent"

Alabaster on a Marble Base. 21"x12"x8" $4,300
I finished this piece just in time for a show at the Burbank Creative Arts Center Gallery. We (Victor Picou, sculptor and Bruce Burr, photographer) had our opening on August 1st. We had a great turnout and people loved how our pieces worked so well together.

Fred Biletnikoff painted on a Raiders Signed Jersey

I have a great client who loves the Raiders. I enjoy painting these guys 'cause they really pop on the black, white and silver jerseys. Also, the helmets had less to them and it's easier to see the players' features.

"Branching Out"

This image was stuck in my brain, demanding to be let out. To me, it looks like a tree while my daughter, Jamie, says she sees it as a river. 16"x20" Canvas $300

"Blossoming"

Three shots for a piece that's 4" tall. I love how Utah Alabaster glows in the light. SOLD

"Bird and Tree"

I've been carving some smaller pieces. It's gratifying to complete a sculpture more quickly at times. This little bit of alabaster is about 5" tall. SOLD

"After Vessel"

This painting was inspired by a carving I recently finished and posted. The object in the painting has somewhat the same shape but is rounder than the carving.

"Remaining Neutral"

Getting ready for a 3 person show at the Burbank Creative Art Center Gallery in August. I decided to add some abstract paintings to the mix of sculpture and photography. This is new ground for me and I'm greatly enjoying it!

Sierra Madre Art Fair

Over this last weekend, May 17th and 18th, I showed at the Sierra Madre Art Fair. I was prepared with more sculptures than I'd shown in one place before. It was blazingly hot and fewer souls than usual braved the weather but we still made sales!

Kareem Abdul Jabbar

A little over a year ago, I started painting jerseys and other pieces of memorabilia for collectors. This is one of my earlier pieces. I've painted balls and shoes as well.

Pendant

I'm showing at the Ventura Art Walk this weekend and carved a few smaller pieces for the fun of it and to be accessible to smaller budgets. This alabaster pendant is just over 4" long.

"Balance"

Just finished polishing this piece yesterday. I love the feel and ease of carving in soapstone but the polishing takes much longer. I tried to capture the lustre of this work but no photo substitutes for the actual presence of 3D art. Soapstone on Marble. $1,600

"LT", LaDainian Tomlinson from the Chargers

I so enjoyed painting this image on a Tomlinson jersey that I decided to do one on canvas. I was able to include more of the players and had fun with the sky effect. 16x20 $700 Unframed

Orang

It's distressing to realize how many people do not realize that as we continue to spread out and destroy so many ecosystems, it is we who we are ulimately destroyed. Mixed Media on pastel paper, approximately 12x14 framed. $350

"Vessel"

I just finished this piece. I didn't have time to take a photo before delivering it to Dianna Bottoms Fine Arts gallery, where several of my works are available. This is alabaster on marble. Both stones took a very high polish and I was very pleased with that. It's so interesting and enjoyable that stone can be both soft and hard, warm and cool. $2,300

I really had fun with this mini-triptych! The canvases are each 4 inches square and painted with acrylic. I seem to be making an entry every other day but will work on getting into a daily routine. $75

The Journey

A feminine quest. I don't have a lot to say 'cause it's just a beginning. Pastel on 18x24 black charcoal paper.

Monique

I met Monique a few years ago. There was something special about her and I wanted to capture it in my work. I asked if she'd pose for me, which she did. I did several sketches of her and created this final drawing in graphite from a photo which she'd lent me. Soon after our session, Monique's career took off and she didn't have time to pose again. But this remains one of my favorite pieces. When facing challenges in my career, I find inspiration in contemplating this portrait of a person who found success in following her dream.

Soul Path

I usually work in photo-realism but since carving stone in abstract over the last few years, I've been thinking of moving into different ways of expressing two dimensionally as well. This is one of my first attempts and I'm having fun! Pastel on 18x24 paper.

A Heart of Stone

This is my first posting. I was recently introduced to blogging and this is such a great way to get show who I am and what I do! So, since art is my passion, particularly sculpting, a heart is my first choice to put out into the cyber-world! Black and White Alabaster Heart on Red Velvet Pillow. $300 SOLD
