Gratitude

Deep Red Orange Utah Alabaster on Black Marble Base. 7 1/2"x5"x5" This stone was given as a gift to me by a friend as a thank you. I also felt a lot of gratitude while carving and knew that that's what I would name it. I'm very fond of this color and really enjoyed carving this piece.

"Angel Wings"

This is another small piece I carved with the charity art show in mind. It's pink alabaster posted on a green marble base. This was a complete departure from my other work in stone and it came out exactly as I envisioned it, so I was quite pleased. 6"x4"x3" $285 SOLD

"Serpent"

Alabaster on a Marble Base. 21"x12"x8" $4,300
I finished this piece just in time for a show at the Burbank Creative Arts Center Gallery. We (Victor Picou, sculptor and Bruce Burr, photographer) had our opening on August 1st. We had a great turnout and people loved how our pieces worked so well together.

"Branching Out"

This image was stuck in my brain, demanding to be let out. To me, it looks like a tree while my daughter, Jamie, says she sees it as a river. 16"x20" Canvas $300

"Bird and Tree"

I've been carving some smaller pieces. It's gratifying to complete a sculpture more quickly at times. This little bit of alabaster is about 5" tall. SOLD

"After Vessel"

This painting was inspired by a carving I recently finished and posted. The object in the painting has somewhat the same shape but is rounder than the carving.

"Remaining Neutral"

Getting ready for a 3 person show at the Burbank Creative Art Center Gallery in August. I decided to add some abstract paintings to the mix of sculpture and photography. This is new ground for me and I'm greatly enjoying it!

Pendant

I'm showing at the Ventura Art Walk this weekend and carved a few smaller pieces for the fun of it and to be accessible to smaller budgets. This alabaster pendant is just over 4" long.

Connections

I really had fun with this mini-triptych! The canvases are each 4 inches square and painted with acrylic. I seem to be making an entry every other day but will work on getting into a daily routine. $75

Soul Path

I usually work in photo-realism but since carving stone in abstract over the last few years, I've been thinking of moving into different ways of expressing two dimensionally as well. This is one of my first attempts and I'm having fun! Pastel on 18x24 paper.
